Senator Gaidam Mourns the Passing of Respected Traditional Leader, Mai Gudi

The Honourable Minister of Police Affairs, Senator (Dr.) Ibrahim Gaidam CON, extends his deepest condolences to the good people of Gudi Emirate and the Government of Yobe State over the passing of His Royal Highness, the Mai Gudi.

In his words, Senator Gaidam stated: “It is with deep sadness and a profound sense of loss that I offer my heartfelt condolences to the Gudi Emirate Council, the family of His Royal Highness, and the entire people of Gudi. The passing of our highly revered monarch, the Mai Gudi, is a great loss to the Emirate and Yobe State at large.

“His Royal Highness was more than just a traditional ruler — he was a symbol of peace, unity, and religious guidance. He carried the throne with dignity, humility, and unwavering dedication to the service of his people. His leadership was marked by wisdom, compassion, and a strong moral compass that earned him respect not only in Gudi Emirate but across the entire state and beyond”.

During my tenure as Governor, I had the distinct privilege of interacting with him closely. In every engagement, he exemplified the highest standards of traditional leadership — always providing wise counsel, promoting harmony, and encouraging development in his domain. He was a deeply religious man who lived a life of devotion and piety, consistently advocating for justice, discipline, and righteousness.

The vacuum left by his demise is indeed a heavy one. Gudi has lost a father. The state has lost a peacemaker. And Nigeria has lost a true servant of tradition and faith.

As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the rich legacy he leaves behind — a legacy of service, love for his people, and commitment to truth. May his soul find rest in the most peaceful gardens of the hereafter, and may the Almighty grant his family, the Emirate, and the entire community the strength and fortitude to bear this monumental loss.

May his memory continue to be a light to guide the path of those he leaves behind.

Signed
