FIC Report (Edo State) – The Edo Central Senatorial seat, Senator Joseph Igiagbe Ikpea on Tuesday paid a formal courtesy visit to the Edo State Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The visit was aimed at officially informing the Party Leadership of his forthcoming declaration to seek the senatorial position and to seek their support and approval, in accordance with party traditions.
The meeting held at the APC State Secretariat located along Ikpokpan GRA in Benin City was attended by Key members of the Edo APC State Working Committee, Party Executives, and other Stakeholders. The atmosphere was cordial and marked by a shared commitment to Party unity and future Political progress.
During the engagement, Senator Ikpea discussed the importance of internal cohesion within the party, grassroots mobilization, and the need for all members and aspirants to work collectively to strengthen the APC’s presence across Edo State. He also expressed appreciation to the party leadership for maintaining stability within the party structure and creating an environment conducive to democratic consultations among members.
Senator Ikpea particularly commended the leadership of Edo APC under the chairmanship of Jarret Tenebe for their steadfast dedication to the growth and development of the party across the state. He acknowledged their efforts in fostering unity and providing opportunities for party members to participate in the democratic process.
Speaking to Journalists shortly after the meeting, Senator Ikpea explained that the purpose of his visit was to formally inform the Party Leadership of his intention to run for the Senate and to seek their approval before making his official declaration public. He emphasized that, as per party protocol, aspirants are required to seek the blessing of the party leadership before announcing their candidacy.
The senator expressed satisfaction with the support, encouragement, and approval he received from the APC leadership, describing it as a vital step toward his political ambition. He reaffirmed his commitment to representing Edo Central diligently, promoting party unity, and contributing to the ongoing growth and progress of the APC in Edo State.
As the political landscape heats up ahead of the next electoral cycle, Senator Ikpea’s visit underscores his respect for party processes and his determination to uphold the principles of democracy and collective progress within the APC.
