The National Coordinator / CEO SERVICOM Presidency Office, Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli has lauded the service delivery initiatives of the Nigerian Police Force.
This commendation was made today 14th January, 2025, at the Police Force Headquarters during a formal presentation of the year 2024” SERVICOM Most Improved Parastatal Team D MDA,“ awards .
Mrs. Akajemeli, while delivering her key note address, pointed out, the important role of the Nigeria Police Force in our dear nation’s security architecture which cannot be overemphasised, as the Force holds and drives the internal security to ensure safety and protection of lives and properties. Thus, without your sufficiency, it is impossible to even gather here today, she added.
The celebration today she said, points out the importance of efficient customer service delivery drive of the people who serve and support customers/citizens on a daily basis such as the Officers of the Nigeria Police Force.
The Force being awarded with the Year 2024 “SERVICOM Most Improved Parastatal Team D MDA “brings to the fore the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment towards citizen-focused service delivery.
According to her today’s event is to acknowledge the efforts you make in your day-to-day operations from the Top management down to the frontline Officers of the Force, come rain or sunshine in ensuring safety and security for economic growth and improved quality of lives of Nigerians.
However, she said, reward for hard work is more work! Thus, for continual and visible service improvement in the Nigeria Police Force, I respectfully encourage the Inspector General of Police, to give more support to SERVICOM Unit in the Force.
She called on the IGP to ensure continuous improvements in the Force by reviewing the Force Service Charter, this she said entails establishing a SERVICOM Committee at the Headquarters to review the Service Charter for transparency, accountability and effectively drive the Service Delivery Initiative in the Force.
She also suggested to the IGP the need to organize a Stakeholders Engagement/Networking for Top Management/Officers, which would increase confidence in the leadership of the IGP to tackle insecurity in our nation.
This Stakeholders Forum, she added, would enable the Force share experiences and best practice among officers across all divisions nationwide, harmonize efforts of officers across all divisions in tackling insecurity nationwide, improve the quality of services delivered to citizens through its networking committee across the federation and bring to bear citizens engagements, connectedness and inclusivity in community policing in Nigeria.
The National Coordinator encouraged the IGP, to ensure the functionality and performance of the Force SERVICOM Unit, this she said would support SERVICOM Unit Work plan implementation for year 2025.
She also solicited for provision of adequate working tools to the Unit that would enhance timely resolution of complaints from the Public. While also ensuring that there is Inclusion of the SERVICOM unit in all NPF Service improvement activities across all its formations.
There is a need to also carry out trainings in all aspects of Service Delivery of all Front Line Officers service wide that would equip them to function maximally.
Mrs Akajemeli reiterated that SERVICOM Office believes that if these areas are implemented, it would enshrine trust of the citizens to the Nigeria Police Force as Friends and its SERVICOM Unit will be repositioned to function optimally thereby ensuring that all customers/citizens are served right and as kings.
The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, responding to the SERVICOM Boss, stated that the Nigerian Police Force is proud to receive the award and recognition by the SERVICOM office, which is a testament of hard work and the commitment of the Officers towards service delivery improvement across all its Commands.
He pledged his commitment to continually strive towards greater improvements and make services accessible to every Nigerian Citizens service wide.
