“That the House do receive the Report of the Conference Committee on a Bill for an Act to Establish Nigerian Maritime Security Trust Fund for Training, Provision of Security Equipment and Regulate Facilities, Enhance the Skills of the Personnel of the Nigerian Navy; and for Related Matters (HB. 1243) (Referred: 28/9/2021). The report was laid following a motion by Rep. Yusuf Gagdi and seconded by Rep. Francis Uduyor.

Resolves to:(i) Urge the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency to resume the rehabilitation of Malondo to Warrah road which was commenced last year;
(ii) mandate the Committees on Works and FERMA to ensure compliance. The motion was voted on and adopted.
- Need for Federal Government’s Intervention in the Crisis between Ichen and Chamb-Dakka Communities in Kurmi Local Government Area of Taraba State: David Abel Fuoh:
Resolves to:(i) Call on the Federal Government to put an effective mechanism in place towards preventing the re-occurrence of the communal clash between the two ethnic groups.
(ii) urge the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) as well as other humanitarian agencies to establish more refugee camps in Kurmi Local Government Area of Taraba State;
(iii) also urge the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, as well as National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other humanitarian agencies to deploy relief materials to the displaced persons and victims of the communal crisis;
(iv) mandate the Committee on Emergency and Disaster Preparedness to ensure compliance. The motion was voted on and adopted.
10. Need to Construct an Airstrip in Michika Town to Enhance Security and Economic Activities in the North East Zone Rep. Zakaria Dauda Nyanpa:
Resolves to:(i) Urge the Federal Government to construct an Airstrip in Kudzum Bazza town of Madagali/ Michika Federal Constituency, Adamawa State;
(ii) mandate the Committees on Aviation, Works and North East Development Commission to ensure implementation. The motion was voted on and adopted.
- Need to Establish Fire Stations in Communities Hosting Petrol Tank Farms in Nigeria:
Rep. Thomas Ereyitomi:
Resolves to:(i) Observe a minute silence for victims who lost their lives in fire outbreaks at tank farms across the country;
(ii) urge the Federal Government to establish Fire Stations within communities hosting tank farms across the country;(iii) mandate the Committee on Interior to ensure implementation. The motion was voted on and adopted.
- An explosion of a Crude Oil Vessel at the Escravos Estuary in Delta State: Julius Pondi:
Resolves to:(i) Call on the Federal Government to urgently mitigate the effects of the explosion on affected communities by embarking on a clean-up of the polluted waters and the coastlands, as well as provide relief materials and pay adequate compensation to those affected by the oil spill;
(ii) urge the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources to investigate the cause of the explosion on the Floating Production Storage and Offloading Vessel FPSO, the Trinity Spirit to prevent a recurrence of the incident;
(iii) mandate the Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream) to conduct an on-the-spot assessment of the area of the incident to make recommendations towards averting a recurrence and report back within four (4) weeks for further legislative action. The motion was voted on and adopted as amended.
