The remains of the Director General of the Infrastructure Concession and Regulatory Commission at the Presidency, Late Engr. Sir Chidi Kennedy Chikezie Izuwah have been laid to rest at his home, Umuotiri, Amaede, Ovungwu in Isialangwa South LGA.
Speaking during the funeral of the deceased conducted by the St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Umuotiri ,Governor Okezie Ikpeazu described the deceased as a worthy Ambassador of Abia State at the Federal Government.
Governor Ikpeazu regretted that the state has lost a rare gem that would be difficult to replace, noting that the late Izuwah never forgot his route and saw his position as a platform to further the cause of Abia State.
According to the Governor, his life, though short was full of achievements and enjoined the bereaved family to sustain his legacies.
The Governor recalled the African Investment Forum in South Africa in 2019 where the Late Engr Izuwah who was a part of the Federal Government delegation, took time to speak extensively to international Investors on the Enyimba Economic City Project, thereby making his assignment at the forum easy.
Governor Ikpeazu noted that the deceased built tremendous goodwill which will outlive his death.
In his speech, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha represented by Dr David Eze described the late Izuwah as a good man and a cerebral Administrator whose contributions to the nation are immeasurable pointing out that he gave his all to the service of the Nation.
In a Sermon earlier, the Rev Fr.Christian Ikpeamaeze said that those who died in Christ will rise again and enjoined the living to be prepared for eternity.
The late Sir Chidi Kennedy Chikezie Izuwah who died at the age of 56 is survived by his wife , Dr Mrs Doris Izuwah , 3 Children and host of other relations.
The Service which was presided over by the Catholic Bishop of Aba, The Most Rev Professor Augustine Echema had in attendance some eminent Nigerians and Heads of Federal Government Parastatals like the Secretary General of the Ohaneze Ndigbo, Ambassador Okey Emuchay, Managing Director of the Sovereign Wealth Fund Investment Authority, Mr. Uche Orji, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Abia State, Uche Ihediwa Esq, State Head of Service, Sir Onyi Wamah, Executive Chairman of Isiala Ngwa South LGA, Chief Ike Anyatonwu, the Promoter of the Enyimba Economic City Project, Mr Darl Uzu, Catholic Priests, Knights and Ladies of St. John’s International, President and members of the Ngwa Patriots Forum, old Boys Association of Government College Umuahia, Alumni of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, staff of Shell Petroleum Development
