The Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu says Abia remains the safest state across by the nation

The Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu has assured Abians both at home and in the diaspora of maximum security especially as the yuletide gradually sets in.

Sir Oko Chukwu gave the assurance while receiving in audience a delegation of Umunneochi Traditional Rulers led by the Traditional Ruler of Aroikpa Autonomous Community, Eze Ernest Onwuka in his office at the Government House, Umuahia.

The Deputy Governor maintained that Abia remains the safest state across by the nation, even as he encouraged the Traditional Rulers and other Stakeholders to assist in securing their communities and exposing crimes and other vices.

He assured them that the Dr Okezie Ikpeazu’s led administration is always proactive and will not hesitate to look into the issues they tabled before him.

Earlier in his speech, the Traditional Ruler of Aroikpa Autonomous Community and the Leader of the Delegation, Eze Ernest Onwuka drew the attention of government to the recent headaches the Umunneochi LGA is battling with, which include: kidnapping, armed robbery among others.

He said as a gateway and get away local government area, having boundaries with Enugu, Ebonyi, Imo and Anambra States, undesirable elements most times sneak in to perpetrate evils and passionately appealed to the State Government to come to their aid in order to restore sanity in the local government.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Umunneochi LGA, Chief Ifeanyi Madu outlined measures his administration has put in place to improve the security situation in the LGA and assured of his readiness to sanitize and sustain the security in Umunneochi to ensure security of lives and property.
