The Minister Commissioned The Outreach Learning Centre In Kano

The Minister of State for Transportation Senator Gbemisola Rukayya Saraki has commissioned the Kano Outreach Learning Centre of the Nigerian Institute of Transportation Technology in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area of Kano state on 3rd June, 2021.

The Minister stated that the aim of establishing the Kano Outreach Learning Centre is in line with the Ministry’s pursuit of policies and programmes that are beneficial to the Nigerian Transport sector.

According to the Minister the commissioning of the project will assist the institution in realizing of the dreams of  Kano and Jigawa states which is to bring its programme and services closer to the transport and logistics stakeholders with the aim of tackling perceived transport knowledge gap in each state among other things.

Gbemisola further explained that the centre will offer programmes not only leading to the award of Advanced Professional Diploma and Certificate but will also provide relevant skills and knowledge that will enable Nigerians especially the youth to acquire necessary skills that will enable them establish business of their own.

In his speech, Kano state Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje represented by his Deputy Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna expressed appreciation that siting such project in the state is highly commendable.

He further said Kano being the commercial and industrial hub of the North, would require such facility to tackle the challenges of transport and logistics as businesses are linked to intensive transportation activities.

Speaking earlier, the Director General of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology Dr. Bayero Salih Farah revealed that Kano Outreach Learning Centre is equipped with state of the art facilities to enhance both theoretical and practical training of Auto Mechanics, Vulcanizers, Welders, Tricycle operators and Farm plant operators leading to the award of Advanced Professional Diploma. Also present at the programme, were the Chairman of the Governing council of NITT Olorogun John Onojeharho and Member representing Dawakin Kudu and Warawa Federal Constituency Alhaji Mustapha Bala Dawaki
