Nigeria’s Vice President, Mohammed Namadi Sambo has collected his Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC) on Monday December 28, 2014 at the INEC Distribution Centre located at the Kaduna North Local Government Secretariat, Magajin Gari, Â Kaduna State with a call to Nigerians to conduct themselves peacefully during and after the 2015 elections.
The Vice President was accompanied by the Kaduna State Governor, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero and the Kaduna State INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Haliru Aliyu Tambuwal. While praying for peaceful conduct of the general election in 2015, he stressed on the administration’s determination to conduct free and fair elections. Adding, he was highly pleased to have collected his INEC PVC. “I seize this opportunity to call on all Nigerians to have peaceful elections, come 2015,” he iterated.
Namadi Sambo charged INEC to deliver free and fair elections, saying there should be the notion of “one man one vote; one woman one vote and one youth one vote.” He further prayed that as the New Year approaches, the country should have a blessed, prosperous and successful 2015.
In his comments on the progress of the PVC distribution in Kaduna State, the Governor of Kaduna State, Ramalan Yero observed that in-spite the initial hitches, the exercise was progressing in the right direction. He also stressed that INEC has assured that all duly registered voters in the State would not be disenfranchised.
Top government officials and PDP dignitaries accompanied the Vice President to the collection centre.
