Nigeria’s Vice President, Mohammed Namadi Sambo on Tuesday December 30, 2014 at the Hassan Usman Katsina House in Kaduna, Kaduna State held a peace and unity meeting with the Yobe State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party family.
During the meeting, the Vice President informed all the stakeholders in the Yobe State Chapter of the party that the meeting was called by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, who had asked him to felicitate with them and congratulate them for their untiring support and continued loyalty to the party and the administration. He further noted that for the party to emerge victorious in the State, all stakeholders need to form a united force. “We want a situation where PDP in Yobe State will come out as one family and face 2015 election which Insha Allah we believe, we will be victorious,” he said. While recalling his efforts at reconciling all the aggrieved parties, the Vice President averred the outcome of primaries in every election normally comes with quite a number of challenges and Yobe State is not an exception. He thanked them for responding and honoring his invitation. “I am pleased to inform you that I had a special meeting with Adamu Waziri and Ngama (Dr) and I am extremely pleased to say that we have come to a good understanding and agreed that these two great stakeholders will work together in the interest of the PDP. I especially thank you for this loyalty to our party, loyalty to our President and loyalty to our party Chairman – the Game Changer, Adamu Mu’azu (Dr) while also thanking our candidates for the senatorial seats, those for the House of Representatives and the State House of Assembly,” he added. Namadi Sambo called on all the stakeholders to go out as one family and during this moment ensure that they win their election in Yobe State. He promised to give them all the necessary support required for the election. Responding to the remark, the former Minister of State for Finance, who is a PDP Governorship aspirant, Yarima Ngama (Dr) expressed gratitude to the President and his Vice for their concern for the progress of the State and the State Chapter of the party. He expressed gratitude to President Goodluck Jonathan for asking the Vice President to come and meet them, saying it shows care and concern for the success of party in Yobe State. He also promised that all will march together to ensure victory for the PDP. Speaking also at the occasion, the Yobe State PDP governorship flag bearer, Adamu Waziri, who is a former Minister of Police Affairs pledged to work assiduously towards ensuring total reconciliation within the party. He informed that all candidates will emerge victorious in the elections and will contribute to restoring Yobe State in the Federal governance of Nigeria. “I assure you that we will carry this message further. We are going to deepen it and within the next few days when we return and work on our home ground the reports will be available. Such reports will now attract renewed interest, renewed attention and renewed support from the Federal Government,” Adamu Waziri indicated. He beseeched his fellow candidates to work together as the success of everyone is the success of all of them. “We have to do that to rescue our people, if our mission is to rescue our State and return good governance to our teeming population,” he hinted. Other stakeholders who spoke at the event pledged their total loyalty to the President as well as his Vice and the National leadership of the PDP, appreciating the support of the Federal Government pledged to Yobe State. Present at the meeting were: the Governor of Kaduna State, Ramalan Yero; the Minister of Science and Technology, Abdul Bulama (Dr) among other PDP officials and supporters from Yobe State.
