The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun has today joined well-meaning Nigerians at Orsu-Obodo, Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State to pay tributes to the late Princess Victoria Immaculate Okwunwa Uzoka, mother of the Honourable Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite.
In a condolence message titled Heartfelt Condolences, the Minister said, Our heart goes out to our dear sister, Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite, Honourable Minister of State Finance, on the loss of her much-loved mother. Princess Victoria Immaculate Okwunwa Uzoka, Ada Ogene, will forever be remembered as a shining example of kindness, compassion, and generosity. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of her loved ones, but her impact on those who knew her will never fade. We pray God’s comfort and strength for Doris and family.
Paying tributes to her beloved mother, the Honourable Minister of State Finance, Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite, said: My dear mother, you were the embodiment of strength wrapped in gentleness, of royal dignity paired with humble service. From my earliest days, you showed me what it meant to be both strong and compassionate, to carry oneself with dignity while remaining accessible to all. Your unwavering faith in God and dedication to serving others shaped the very core of our family values.
Through your examples, you taught us that true greatness lies not in titles or positions but in how we touch the lives of others, especially those most in need.
You showed us that faith without action is empty and that every person, regardless of their status, deserves dignity and respect. In you, I found my strongest advocate and wisest counsellor.
As I continue on my path, I carry with me the values you installed – humility, compassion, integrity, and the importance of using whatever positions we find ourselves to lift others.

Also, in her message of condolence, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance, Mrs. Lydia Shehu Jafiya said, We take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt condolences to the Honourable Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite and her entire family. May the love and support of family, friends, and the community be a source of comfort and strength during this difficult time.

Quoting the words of ECK Master Harold Klemp, The love that we give to others is the love that comes back to us, the Ministry’s Directors noted that Princess Immaculate Okwunwa Uzoka embodied this spirit of love and giving, and that her memory will continue to be a blessing to all.
Dignitaries from all walks of lives, including top government officials, Honourable Ministers, Members of the National Assembly, Captains of Industry, Members of the Diplomatic Community, Royal Fathers, Religious Leaders and well meaning Nigerians gathered to pay their tributes and last respect to Princess Immaculate Okwunwa Uzoka Ada Ogene.
Born in 1952 in Tiko, South West Province of the Republic of Cameroon, late Princess Victoria Immaculate Okwunwa Uzoka earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, leading to a distinguished career in the Federal Government of Nigeria, where she served in both the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Works and Housing. During her school years, Princess Victoria exhibited exceptional athletics prowess, earning numerous accolades in sports, including long jump, short put, and mile races. She was a devoted mother to three children, among whom is the Honourable Minister of State Finance, Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite.
As the nation mourns the passing of this remarkable woman, we remember her selfless contributions to her community, her unwavering commitment to her faith, and unrelenting love for her family and our dear country.
May her legacy continue to inspire us to live with love, kindness, and compassion.
