The Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, has said his administration is making giant strides in the fight against human trafficking through cordial partnership with stakeholders and general sensitization.
The governor gave this hints in Benin City, the Edo state capital at the first zonal Community of Practice (COP) meeting for Heads of Budget and Planning agencies across the federation.
The governor, who was represented by Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu, attributed the remarkable success recorded so far in the fight against human trafficking to the synergy with the Oba of Benin, Oba Square II.
He also said his administration is aiding returnees to acquire skills through training and retraining programmes as well as the payment of stipends to start up their businesses.
The governor solicited for concerted efforts to assist youths acquire relevant skills that will make them independent and contribute meaningfully to national development and progress.
