Women Affairs Minister Urges Patience As Government Distributes Lifeline To Vulnerable Nigerians

In a heartfelt appeal, the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Barrister (Mrs) Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, has called on Nigerians to stand together and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration as it strives to bring about transformative change in the nation’s economy.

Speaking at a rice distribution event in Umudioka Village, Awka, Anambra State, Kennedy-Ohanenye acknowledged the nation’s struggles but reassured citizens of the President’s unwavering commitment to revitalizing the economy through sweeping reforms.

The Minister’s words were backed by action as thousands of vulnerable Nigerians in the State received vital support, including 5,000 bags of 10 kg rice to alleviate food insecurity, 300 gas cylinders, to ease cooking challenges as well as 500 bags of 50 kg fertilizers to boost agricultural productivity.

Kennedy-Ohanenye who assured further that with patience and collective support, a brighter future beckons for all Nigerians, added, Just give the President time; within the shortest possible time, things will begin to improve.

At the occasion, State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Ify Obinabo praised the Federal Government’s dedication to poverty alleviation as well as the Honourable Minister’s commitment to the upliftment of the lives of women, children and the vulnerable in the society.

Also speaking, the Chief Executive Officer, Smart Gas, Mrs. Yinka Okpeke highlighted the importance of empowering women and vulnerable communities.

The Federal Government rice distribution programme, earmarked for the 3 Senatorial Districts of the State, was graced by Party Stalwarts, Widows, People Living With Disabilities, among others.
