The Administrator/Chief Executive Officer of the Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN), Barrister Imeh Okon, has been honoured with the prestigious “Pillar of Struggle” Award by the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN), PSIN Unit, in recognition of her transformational leadership and unwavering commitment to staff welfare.
The award, presented as part of activities marking the 2026 Workers’ Day celebration, highlights Barrister Okon’s impactful leadership and her contributions to repositioning the Institute since assuming office on September 1, 2025. The ASCSN commended her for fostering a conducive work environment and implementing policies that have enhanced staff productivity and strengthened institutional growth.
In her Workers’ Day message, Barrister Okon congratulated staff of the Institute and acknowledged their critical role in driving its achievements. She described workers as “the beacon and fulcrum of productivity, progress, innovation, creativity, and prosperity,” emphasizing the importance of a dedicated workforce in achieving sustainable national development.
Reflecting on her stewardship, she expressed appreciation to staff for their commitment, cooperation, and resilience, noting that their collective efforts have been instrumental in repositioning PSIN as a centre of excellence in public service training and reform.
Reaffirming her administration’s priorities, the PSIN CEO reiterated her commitment to enhancing staff welfare, improving working conditions, promoting occupational health and safety, and ensuring the security of lives and property within the Institute and its environs.
She further urged staff to use the occasion of Workers’ Day to reflect on shared achievements and renew their commitment to excellence, expressing confidence in continued collaboration to strengthen PSIN’s position as Nigeria’s leading gateway for public sector capacity building.
