FIC Report (Yobe State) – The Yobe State Government commended the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) for its 2026 Sub national Engagement and Reform Tour, describing the initiative as a significant step toward strengthening economic reforms and improving the ease of doing business across states.

The state Deputy Governor, Alh Idi Barde Gubana who is also the chairman Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) Council made the commendation while addressing members of the council during their 5th meeting held on Wednesday, 22d July at Government House in Damaturu the state capital.

The Deputy Governor reiterates government commitment to implementing policies that drive industrialization, encourage the use of clean energy, create sustainable employment opportunities, and advance Governor Mai Mala Buni’s vision of positioning Yobe State as a leading hub for business, innovation, and investment in Northern Nigeria and across the country.

The meeting focused on reviewing the 2026 Business-Enabling Reform Action Plan (BERAP) and identifying practical measures to strengthen the state’s business climate. Discussions emphasized the need for coordinated reforms that make it easier for businesses to operate, invest, and grow.

The BERAP framework is designed to enhance the overall ease of doing business by addressing key areas such as land administration, infrastructure development, and access to finance, which are critical to attracting investment, supporting entrepreneurship, and driving economic growth within the state.

The meeting resolved to review the findings from the Presidential Team’s town hall engagement with stakeholders in the state capital and consider the recommendations made during the interactive engagement for possible implementation, with the aim of strengthening ongoing business and economic reforms in the state.
