In an event organised recently at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Abuja to honour retirees, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo SAN, CON, FICArb (UK), appreciated the retired Directors for their selfless services to the Country and described them as patriotic Nigerians whose services to their father land cannot be forgotten. Keyamo described their service to Nigeria as huge and stated that nothing can be used to reward them for such services rendered.

Speaking to the 8 (Eight) retired Directors who have retired meritoriously from Federal Civil Service, Keyamo , reiterated that their services could be required anytime the need arises and urged them to always engage in activities that would enhance their health. He equally thanked the families of the retired Directors for supporting them throughout all the years of their service.

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Dr Emmanuel Meribole thanked the Minister of Aviation for the approval to honour the Senior Citizens who have served the Country in different capacities He advised them to go back to their families, friends and communities and make meaningful contributions to the society. while urging them to take their health seriously and engage in regular exercise.

Mr Yusuf Aliyu Addy on behalf of the Retirees thanked the Minister and Permanent Secretary for such honour and promised not to take it for granted. He appealed to the Permanent Secretary to ensure the retired Directors get their Retirement Certificate on time from Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.

Director Human Resources Management, Mr Mohammed Shehu described retirement as continuous process and advised those in Service to start preparing for their exit from Civil Service. Mr Shehu admonished the retirees to remain focus, active and affirmed  that there are more  opportunities to explore  even at retirement.
