The Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has completed its 2020 Digital Training for Youth in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, Mobile Device Repair and Training. Programming, Digital Marketing, Web Design and Cinematography.
Participants for the training at the Youth Development Centre, Ode-Omu Osun State, were competitively selected from a pool of online applications from across the country.
In addition to training the youth in the various digital skill areas, beneficiaries were equipped with tools to practice what they have learnt in line with the Ministry’s end-to-end training approach, which entails equipping trained youth to be self-employed.
In this regard, the trainees were equipped with devices or packs that correspond to the skills they were trained for. Participants for Web Design, Robotic and Artificial Intelligence got one laptop computer each, those that were trained for Programming and Digital Marketing got one note pad each, trainees for Cinematography got one camera each, while Mobile Device Repair trainees got a starter pack each.
It is imperative to state that this round of Digital Skills Training was provided through the Ministry’s 2020 Budget in the midst of budgetary challenges arising from the COVID 19 Pandemic.
The Ministry, therefore encourages Nigerians who have inquiries about its skill training programmes , to make use of its robust virtual and onsite help-desks at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja and not resort to speculations.
