4th National Council on Communication Technology to hold in Kaduna

The 4th Regular Meeting of the National Council on Communication Technology is slated to hold in Kaduna between 24th and 29th October, 2016.

The theme of the 4th Regular Meeting of the National Council is ‘Information and Communication Technology as the focal Point of Nigeria’s Economic Diversification’. The Meeting is expected to be used to strategize towards positioning Information and Communications Technology (ICT) as the focal point of the nation’s economy.

The Honourable Minister of Communications, Barrister Adebayo Shittu, who is Chairman of the Council, is to lead delegations from the Federal Ministry of Communications and its Agencies to attend the 4th Regular Meeting.

The Council is to be declared open by the Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai on Friday, 28th October, 2016 at the Arewa House, No 1 Rabah Road, Kaduna, Kaduna State
Delegates expected to attend the Council Meeting are Commissioners for ICT from the 36 States of the Federation and officials from Ministries of ICT and their Agencies.

Preceding the Meeting of Council is the technical session to be chaired by the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Arc Sonny Echono.

The Council is the highest consultative body for Governments of the Federation on matters pertaining to ICT policies and programmes with a view to achieving uniformity in the ICT sector. It is also a forum used to strategize a robust ICT development in Nigeria.
