8 Presidential Priorities: Badaru Assures Committee of Defence preparedness

Honourable Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar CON, mni has assured the delegation that the Ministry was prepared to key in the Priorities and focus areas of Mr. President 8 priority areas.

He noted Defence’s Presidential Priority as it concerns security, pointing out that the Ministry is ready to mobilize in collaboration with all its agencies to defend the Nation from terror and all forms of criminality.

Speaking to the Press, the Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination, Hadiza Bala Usman noted that the eight deliverables and focus areas are in alignment with the Ministry’s core functions.

She explained that the purpose and the objectives of the bilateral session was to ensure that Ministry has a good understanding of the eight Presidential Priorities and focus areas.

“I am glad that the Ministry of Defence has keyed seamlessly into the ovearall agenda of Mr. President,” she said.

Speaking further, she said that at the end of the bilateral session there will be a jointly agreed set of deliverables and well defined performance metrics which will serve as Performance Bonds to be signed by the Ministers and Permanent Secretaries with the President.

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana mni assured the committe that Ministry of Defence would deliver on all key performance indicators.

He reiterated the Honourable Minister’s position that the MOD is geared towards strenghtening National security for peace and prosperity.
