Enugu Govt Partners FG, Wema Bank For Digital Skillnovation Programme

FIC Report (Enugu State) – The government of Enugu State is set to partner with the federal government of Nigeria and Wema bank to train tech enthusiasts among others on various skills through the Digital Skillnovation Programme.

Giving an overview of what the programme is all about, the Special Adviser to Enugu State Governor on Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Development, and the Head of Enugu SME Center, Hon. Arinze Chilo Offiah said the programme according to it’s design by the federal government, “aims to equip our young minds with a versatile set of skills and opportunities tailored to their individual aspirations and market realities.

‘Beyond mere skills acquisition, the program is set to create a ripple effect of socioeconomic benefits across the nation. By empowering our youth, we are not just fostering individual successes; we are investing in the broader narrative of national progress, promoting job creation, boosting innovation, and paving the way for a more prosperous future. With each participant we train, mentor, or incubate, we are making a conscious investment in the nation’s future, ensuring that Nigeria remains at the forefront of the global digital economy.

“FGN-ALAT Digital Skillnovation Program is more than just a training initiative – it’s a comprehensive ecosystem designed to foster innovation, growth, and success, shaping the next generation of Nigerian entrepreneurs and professionals.”

Hon. Chilo-Offiah added that the programme is ideal for business owners, aspiring entrepreneurs, professionals, and job seekers in Enugu State and the participants will be exposed to trainings such as:

Core Digital and Technology Skills
Technology-Adjacent Skills
Code Technology Skills
Entrepreneurial and Business Management Skills

The training will span 2-3 months, with both virtual and in-person sessions for convenience.
