“The flag off of the USAID sponsored project called “Mercy Corps Intervention Project” to rehabilitate and reconnect homes and public places will happen in Abia State very soon.

“The date for the exercise has been extended to the end of the week. Initially it was supposed to end on Saturday but because of the Local Government Area elections, it was moved forward for more Abians to participate in the exercise.

“That exercise is a very important one because of the diseases that are focused on” Prince Kanu said.

He noted that a total number of 33,000 persons have been screened so far and called on Abians and residents to participate in the free screening exercise in order to know their health status.

Prince Kanu described the just concluded Local Government elections in the state as free and fair leading to the emergence of a Councillorship candidate from a political party that did not participate in the elections.

The state Information boss disclosed that this year’s version of the Aba International Trade fair summit and exhibition would take place between the 28th of November and the 7th of December 2024 at the Aba Mall along the Umuahia-Aba Express Way, Osisioma LGA.
