FIC Report (Kano State) – The Permanent Secretary of the Kano State Ministry of Education, Alhaji Bashir Baffa Muhammad, has praised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his transformative efforts in revitalizing the education sector through a robust education recovery agenda.
During an inspection tour of schools across the state on Tuesday, Alhaji Bashir commended the visible progress made in school feeding programs and infrastructural improvements under the governor’s administration. He emphasized that since the inception of Governor Yusuf’s tenure, education has been prioritized as a cornerstone of development.
According to Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru, Director of Public Enlightenment in the Ministry of Education, the inspection visits are part of the ministry’s strategy to ensure the governor’s reforms are effectively implemented at the grassroots level. “The recovery agenda is not just about policies but tangible outcomes. These visits allow us to assess how the initiatives are directly impacting students and staff in schools across the state,” Kiru stated on December 3, 2024.
Principals of inspected schools also lauded Governor Yusuf’s commitment to enhancing educational access and quality. Hajiya Zainab Ado Ma’aji, Principal of Government Girls Secondary School Shekara, expressed gratitude for the governor’s zeal and called for the regularization of casual staff to optimize their contributions. Malam Rabiu Usaini Gano, Principal of Government Secondary School Gwale, highlighted improvements despite challenges posed by the federal government’s de-articulation policy affecting junior classes.
The Ministry of Education assured continued efforts to support Governor Yusuf’s vision of an improved education system in Kano State.
