Procurement Director Bags Award For Outstanding Contribution To Sector

The Director of Procurement in the Federal Ministry of Regional Development, Engr. Abdulrasheed Lawal, has been conferred with the prestigious award of “Outstanding Contribution to Public Procurement” by Mr. Akin Naphtal, Group CEO, InstinctWave, Africa Procurement Summit Group Africa Procurement Supply Chain Summit and Awards 2025.

Speaking at the award presentation which took place in Lagos, Nigeria on Friday 4th July 2025, Mr. Akin said the award was in recognition of immense support to the sector.

In his remarks, Engr. Abdulrasheed thanked the organisers for the recognition, which he said he has accepted with humility and a deep sense of responsibility. “This award is not mine alone. I want to dedicate this prestigious award first to the Almighty God and memory of my late father. Also, to the Honourable Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh and Minister of State, Hon Uba Maigari Ahmadu whose visionary leadership continues to drive institutional reforms and accountability across our regional efforts”, he said.

The Director stated further, “I also acknowledge the unwavering support of the Permanent Secretary, of the Ministry of Regional Development, Dr. Mary Ada Ogbe, whose guidance on our Procurement processes have remained both compliant and strategic.

According to him, “the award is also dedicated to my Director General, Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) Dr. Adebowale A. Adedokun for reforms and commitment to holding Procurement principles “ , as well as management and staff of the ministry adding that all hands must be on deck to continue to advance transparency and value for money in public procurement, for the progress of the regions and the country in general, “integrity, due process and professionalism are not just values- they are the foundation of Public trust”, he concluded.

Other recipients of the awards include: DG/CEO Procurement Regulatory Authority, Zimbabwe, DG Lagos state PPA, DG Kogi state BPP, Dir. Procurement MTN NIGERIA, President APPON, Dir. Procurement Ministry of Regional Development Nigeria at the Africa Procurement and supply chain summit and Awards 2025.
