‎The Director General of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), Mr. Dasuki Ibrahim Arabi, has been conferred with the Africa Illustrious Award, a prestigious continental honour that celebrates individuals and organizations who have demonstrated excellence and integrity in leadership, philanthropy, and public service across Africa.

‎The award was presented to Mr. Arabi during a grand ceremony held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. The event brought together a host of dignitaries, business leaders, technocrats, and innovators from across the continent, all celebrated for their contributions to Africa’s development.

‎According to the organizers, the Africa Illustrious Award is designed to “search, discover and recognize excellence in Africa, not as an exception but as a consistent pattern in the modern African experience.” Mr. Arabi was selected by a special panel of seasoned professionals, researchers, and the public, following a rigorous vetting process that affirmed his remarkable contributions to public sector reform and good governance in Nigeria.

‎Speaking at the event, representatives of the award committee commended Mr. Arabi’s leadership at the BPSR, noting that his passion for transparency, innovation, and citizen-centered service delivery has not only transformed Nigeria’s public service ecosystem but also positioned him as a role model for governance reforms across the continent.

‎In his remarks, Mr. Arabi expressed gratitude for the recognition and dedicated the award to his team at the BPSR and all public servants working diligently to improve governance and service delivery in Nigeria. He reaffirmed his commitment to driving transformational reforms that promote accountability, efficiency, and inclusive growth.

He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its unwavering support to institutional reform efforts through the Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly the strategic backing provided by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) in strengthening public sector governance.

‎This latest honour adds to a growing list of accolades earned by Mr. Arabi for his exceptional service in the public sector and his dedication to promoting excellence and development in Africa.
