Kaduna Hosts Regional Security Dialogue as Governor Uba Sani Reaffirms Commitment to Peace and Collective Action

FIC Report (Kaduna State) – The Kaduna State Government has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to regional cooperation and grassroots-based strategies in tackling security challenges facing the North-West region.

This was made known during the North-West Zonal Stakeholders’ Engagement on Security Challenges in Nigeria, organized by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), held at the Sardauna Memorial Foundation in Kaduna.

Governor Uba Sani, CON, who was represented by his Deputy, Her Excellency, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, welcomed stakeholders from across the region, praising the Federal Government’s initiative in convening the dialogue, which brought together representatives of the seven North-Western states, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara, and Jigawa, alongside top officials from federal security and paramilitary agencies, civil society actors, traditional and religious leaders.

In his goodwill message, Governor Uba Sani noted that the meeting was a timely and crucial opportunity to take stock of the evolving security landscape in the region and to galvanize collective action towards peace and stability.

Sani said this platform provides us with an invaluable opportunity to review the multifaceted threats confronting us and to collaborate across all levels of government and society.

He mentioned the effective security begins with informed and vigilant communities.

Uba said we must empower our people with the knowledge and tools to safeguard themselves.

He emphasized that while government strategies and efforts continue to be deployed, the perspectives and lived experiences of the people remain central in designing sustainable solutions.

He added that we are here to listen, understand your concerns, and integrate your insights into our broader security architecture. This is a partnership, and together, with sincerity and commitment, we can reclaim our communities.

The Deputy Governor, Dr. Balarabe, who delivered the remarks on his behalf, also declared the meeting open on behalf of the state government, pledging Kaduna’s continued readiness to collaborate with federal authorities, neighboring states, and local communities to confront armed banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of violent crimes.

She reiterated that the administration of Senator Uba Sani places a premium on transparency, accountability, and grassroots engagement in its security response strategy.

The engagement served as a platform for cross-sector dialogue, with security experts, traditional rulers, community leaders, and government officials deliberating on actionable pathways to peace, security, and development.

The Kaduna State Government continues to prioritize multi-stakeholder engagement, intelligence-driven responses, and the strengthening of local resilience structures in its security agenda.
