The Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji has said that, the Ministry will collaborate with Kano State Government to scale up Science and Technology Innovation (STI) interventions (STI) in the state.
The Minister said this when the delegate from Kano State Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation led by the Commissioner Hon Yusuf Ibrahim Kofar Mata paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.
Nnaji disclosed that the Ministry is ready to collaborate and scale up interventions in Kano State through the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation and also avail them with improved Tela-maize and Cotton Technology that will improve production of Agro products in the State.
He further said that the country has recently secured satellite through one of the Ministry’s Agency, National Space Research and Development Agency (NSRDA) to improve security which he said will extend to Kano State as well.
Nnaji assured the delegates of the Ministry’s support especially in the area of Green Hydrogen and Green Methanol for climate change mitigation and agriculture in the State.
Earlier the Kano State Commissioner of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim Kofar Mata said that the purpose of their visit is to share knowledge, collaborate and seek opportunities for Research Findings for the betterment of the State.
He further said that Kano State is blessed with vast landscape, that can accommodate STI activities as well as Research and Development (R&D) to improve Agro-seeds, that will bring about food security.
