FIC Report (Benue State) – The Federal Government has called on Nigerians to play active roles in the nation-building process by the strengthening unity, embracing shared values, and supporting government policies and programmes.

The Honorable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, made this call during the sensitization campaign and presentation of the Federal Government’s two-year report held on Tuesday, 19th August, 2025, at the Conference Hall of the Federal Secretariat Complex, Makurdi.

Represented by the Head of Centre, Federal Information Centre (FIC) Makurdi, Mrs. Irene Iveren Onehi, the Minister explained that the sensitization programme was designed to give Nigerians a comprehensive account of the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration within the last two years.

He emphasized the need for stakeholders—comprising the media, civil society, community leaders, and the general public—to critically engage the report and disseminate accurate information about the progress the nation has made together.

Mrs. Onehi highlighted that the scorecard reflected the administration’s strides in security, health infrastructure, digital economy, agriculture, youth and women empowerment, social development, and transportation. She encouraged participants to acknowledge both the challenges and the successes, stressing that Nigeria is on the rise, with improved innovation, better transportation infrastructure, and uninterrupted academic sessions in higher institutions.

Continuing the sensitization campaign on Wednesday, 20th August, 2025, officials of the Federal Information Centre, Makurdi, engaged traders at the High Level Market, Makurdi.

In her address to the market women, Mrs. Onehi explained that the outreach was to sensitize the grassroots about the mid-term achievements of President Tinubu’s administration while distributing information flyers. She urged traders and the general public to support government initiatives, noting that over 900,000 students had already benefited from the student loan scheme, among other interventions.

The Head of Centre reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to inclusiveness and transparency, assuring that continuous engagement with citizens would remain a priority to foster trust and unity.
