The Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC) held a debriefing exercise to honor 12 volunteers who recently returned from their service in Liberia under the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps Scheme. The volunteers were welcomed back to Nigeria for their achievements and contributions to the Liberian educational sector.
In his address, the Director-General of NTAC, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub, ably represented by Ambassador Saidu Dahiru Muhammad, Deputy Director of Administration, commended the volunteers for their professionalism and commitment throughout their service in Liberia. He expressed appreciation to them for maintaining discipline and decorum during their assignment, noting that there were no complaints from the host country regarding their conduct.
Minister-Counsellor Mr. Oladapo Falusi Hakeem, representing Ambassador Zakari Usman, Director of Programmes, congratulated the volunteers, stating, “You have gone, seen, and conquered. Your service has made Nigeria proud.”
Speaking on behalf of the team, Mr. Nwofoke Chukwuemeka, Team Leader of the Liberia Volunteers, thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Director-General of NTAC for the opportunity to serve. He acknowledged the presence and support of the Nigerian Embassy in Liberia, which played a key role in easing their adjustment process. He emphasized that the volunteers worked tirelessly to help the Liberian government upgrade its educational system, which has faced challenges since the country’s civil war.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of Certificates of Participation to all 12 volunteers.
