The Director-General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC), Rt. Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub, has reaffirmed Nigeria’s standing as a leading nation in the export of development labour and promotion of sustainable development goals (SDGs) across the globe.
He made this assertion during a courtesy visit by members of the National Council of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP) to the NTAC headquarters in Abuja.
Rt. Hon. Buba emphasized Nigeria’s long-standing commitment to development diplomacy, noting that through the Technical Aid Corps Scheme, the country has made significant contributions to the growth and capacity development of several nations in Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific.
According to him, “Nigeria has been a trailblazer in development cooperation, yet our efforts often go underreported. We must continue to tell our story and showcase our impact in shaping global development.”
The NTAC DG also expressed readiness for deeper collaboration with the NITP, urging its members to leverage international partnerships for capacity building and to promote global best practices in town planning.
Earlier in his remarks, NITP National President, Tpl. Dr. Ogbonna Chime, lauded the Corps’ contributions to human capital development across partner nations and expressed optimism that a partnership between both bodies would further enhance the implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
