Nigeria’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day Senator Imasuen Urges Solidarity and Cooperation

FIC Report (Edo State) – In a heartfelt tribute to Nigeria’s Fallen Heroes, Senator Neda Imasuen has called for renewed Solidarity and increased Cooperation among Nigerians to support the nation’s security forces. His remarks came as the Country observed Armed Forces Remembrance Day on January 15th, 2026, a day dedicated to honoring those who sacrificed their Lives in Service of Nigeria’s Unity, Peace, and Sovereignty.

In a Solemn Statement, Senator Imasuen expressed deep gratitude to the heroes who laid down their lives in defense of Nigeria and emphasized the importance of recognizing the courage, dedication, and sacrifices of Nigeria’s Military Personnel, who have consistently put their lives on the line to defend the nation’s borders and protect its citizens. She paid special tribute to the heroes who paid the ultimate Price, acknowledging that their selfless service should inspire a collective effort to build a safer and more secure Nigeria.

The Senator urged Nigerians to intensify their support for the Nigerian Armed Forces, especially as they confront complex security challenges such as insurgency, banditry, and other threats to peace. She highlighted the critical role of unity and cooperation between the Government and Citizens in empowering Security Agencies to succeed in their vital missions.

“Today, we remember with deep gratitude the brave men and women who laid down their lives for Nigeria. It is our collective responsibility to support their sacrifices by fostering understanding, cooperation, and unwavering Solidarity,” Senator Imasuen stated. “Our security forces need the backing of all Nigerians to effectively address the threats facing our nation.”

Imasuen reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to strengthening Security Institutions. According to him, the Nigerian Government remains resolute in its efforts to improve Operational Capabilities through better Funding, Training, and Legislation. He assured that the National Assembly would continue to prioritize National Security by enacting Laws that empower the Military and Law Enforcement Agencies to Operate more effectively.

In closing, Senator Imasuen prayed for the repose of the Souls of Nigeria’s fallen Heroes and expressed hope toward building a safer, more resilient Nigeria. He called on citizens to honor their memory by supporting ongoing efforts to secure the nation’s peace and stability.
