The Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Kingsley Udeh, SAN, last night joined eminent Nigerians and stakeholders at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, for the Sun Man of the Year Award 2025, where His Excellency, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, was honoured for his outstanding leadership and reform-driven governance in Enugu State.
The prestigious recognition celebrates Governor Mbah’s bold vision, accelerated infrastructure delivery, and strategic deployment of technology and innovation to transform governance and service delivery. Notable achievements include the construction of over 81 roads, the establishment of 260 smart schools, and the integration of smart systems to strengthen security architecture, institutional efficiency, and public service outcomes across the state.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Udeh described the award as a fitting acknowledgment of Governor Mbah’s clear, data-driven vision to position Enugu as a leading regional economic hub, anchored on good governance, smart infrastructure, innovation, and far-reaching institutional reforms.
He noted that the Governor’s leadership exemplifies the power of innovation-led governance to unlock development, improve the quality of life of citizens, and restore public confidence in government.
“We are immensely proud of his unwavering commitment and dedicated service to Ndi Enugu and to Nigeria as a whole,” the Minister stated, adding that the recognition further validates the importance of technology, innovation, and reform as critical drivers of sustainable development.
Dr. Udeh congratulated Governor Mbah on the well-deserved honour, describing him as a leader whose actions continue to set new standards for performance, accountability, and impact-driven governance.
The Honourable Minister reaffirmed the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology’s commitment to supporting states in leveraging science, technology, and innovation to accelerate development, strengthen institutions, and deliver measurable results for citizens in line with the Federal Government’s development agenda.
