Nigeria’s Green Chamber Commends Kano Government Over Gigantic Roads, Flyovers

FIC Report (Kano State) – The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Tajuddeen Abbas has commended the Kano State Government for the steady progress recorded in ongoing infrastructural development projects across the state, describing the developments as a reflection of purposeful leadership and effective governance.

This was contained in a press release issued by Mustapha Muhammad the Chief Press Secretary to the Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Speaking on behalf of the Speaker Hon. Usman Bello Kumo noted that the National Assembly was impressed with the pace and quality of work being delivered by the present administration in Kano State.

While inspecting ongoing infrastructural projects, he said the projects inspected were clear evidence of responsible leadership and prudent management of public resources for the benefit of citizens, adding that strategic investments in roads, bridges would ease movement and create more economic opportunities.

He reaffirmed the readiness of the National Assembly to continue supporting policies and programmes that improve the welfare of Nigerians, stressing that collaboration between federal and state governments remains critical to sustainable development.

Hon. Kumo also urged residents of Kano State to continue supporting the administration to ensure timely completion of ongoing projects and the success of future reforms, noting that development thrives where there is public trust and cooperation.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in his remarks during the inspection announced that the Dan’agundi and Tal’udu Interchange flyover projects would be completed next month.

He explained that the Dan’agundi axis, before the coming of the present administration was heavily burdened with persistent traffic congestion that affected commuters, traders, and other road users.

According to him, addressing the challenge was one of the key priorities of his administration after the 2023 elections, leading to the decision to construct modern interchange flyovers and expand major roads into dual carriageways as part of a broader urban renewal agenda.

The Governor described the Dan’agundi and Tal’udu interchange flyovers as landmark projects and among the first of their kind in Northern Nigeria, adding that they would provide lasting solutions to congestion in some of the busiest commercial corridors of Kano metropolis.

He expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work, noting that the visible progress reflects his administration commitment to delivering impactful, people-centred governance.

He reaffirmed that infrastructural development would remain a top priority in an efforts to improve mobility, attract investment and modernize the city.

In their separate remarks, House of Representative member Hon. Aliyu Sani Madakin Gini, former APC National Treasurer, Bala Muhammad Gwagwarwa, and the Director-General of the National Productivity Centre, Baffa Babba Dan’Agundi, commended Governor Yusuf for executing projects they described as transformative and people-oriented.

They said the administration’s focus on roads, bridges and urban renewal was already yielding positive results across the state, improving transportation flow and expanding commercial opportunities.

The inspection tour also featured visits to other ongoing and completed projects within Kano metropolis, reinforcing the government’s commitment to infrastructure modernization and economic development.
