The Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN) has taken a decisive step toward strengthening Nigeria’s institutional capacity with a high-level strategic visit to the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), signaling a bold new phase of collaboration focused on workforce transformation and sustainable development.
Leading the delegation, the Administrator/Chief Executive Officer of PSIN, Barrister Imeh Okon, engaged the management of NDPHC in forward-looking discussions aimed at unlocking synergies in capacity building, workforce assessment, and modern training systems tailored to the evolving needs of the power sector.
Barrister Okon emphasized that PSIN’s role goes far beyond traditional training, positioning the Institute as a national driver of excellence in public service performance. She highlighted its proven track record in developing credible and transparent examination systems for government institutions, consistently achieving zero petition rates, a benchmark that reinforces PSIN’s integrity and professionalism.
She further underscored PSIN’s strategic contributions to national development through standardized, high-impact training programmes aligned with the Federal Government’s reform agenda. Flagship initiatives such as SMART-P and LEAD-P, implemented under the Office of the Head of Service, continue to equip public servants across all cadres with the competencies required for effective governance and service delivery.
Reinforcing its results-driven approach, PSIN delivers targeted training needs assessments, structured induction programmes for new employees, and forward-thinking entrepreneurship training designed to prepare public servants for life after retirement. These initiatives are geared toward fostering self-reliance, economic resilience, and long-term wellbeing.
The PSIN CEO also pointed to the Institute’s successful partnerships with major national institutions, including TETFund, INEC, Federal Housing Authority, and Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority, as clear evidence of its capacity to deliver measurable impact at scale.
In her remarks, the Managing Director of NDPHC, Engr. Jennifer Adighije, welcomed the initiative and affirmed the company’s readiness to partner with PSIN. She identified key areas of collaboration, particularly in examination development and the deployment of Computer-Based Test (CBT) infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency.
The visit concluded with both institutions committing to a results-oriented partnership that will strengthen institutional performance, drive innovation, and support Nigeria’s broader public sector transformation agenda.
The Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN) is the nation’s premier capacity-building institution, dedicated to advancing human capital development and driving excellence across the Nigerian public service.
