FIC Report (Benue State) – The Industrial Training Fund Area Office in Makurdi has concluded a two-day workshop on “Administrative Support in the Digital Age,” aimed at enhancing workplace efficiency through digital and administrative skills development.
The workshop, which held from May 13 to 14, 2026, was organized in line with the Fund’s mandate of developing the nation’s human resources through tailored capacity-building programmes designed to address specific skills gaps across industries.
Speaking during the programme, The Director General Dr Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun represented by the Area Manager, Sarah Adanyi Adue, stated that the training aligns with the organization’s core mandate of Human Capital Development.
According to her, the institution has been in existence for over fifty years and remains committed to equipping workers with modern skills needed in today’s digital workplace.
She noted that the training became necessary due to the need for improved staff attitudes and competencies in organizations.
Mrs. Adanyi explained that participants were trained in areas such as digital skills, emotional intelligence, and administrative support techniques to improve productivity and service delivery.
She further disclosed that the Fund has lined up seven different programmes for 2026 targeted at junior staff, middle-level managers, and chief executives.
The Area Manager called on organizations in Benue State to take advantage of the available programmes to enhance efficiency and professionalism in their workplaces.
Also speaking, a participant at the workshop, Terna Gundu from NKST College of Health Technology, commended the Federal Government for the initiative on staff training and retraining.
He described the two-day workshop as impactful, noting that it provided participants with practical knowledge and relevant skills needed to function effectively in the modern digital work environment.
