FIC Report (Osun State) – The newly deployed Residential Electoral Commissioner, Barr Babalola Oluwatoyin has assured the stakeholders, Civil Society Organization (CSOs), Community Based Organization (CBOs), Faith Based Organization (FBOs) etc her preparation and readiness towards the forth coming Osun State Governorship Election scheduled for Saturday 15th August, 2026 and promised credible, free,fair and inclusive election.
This she made known in the state capital during the meeting held with them on 21/05/2026 where she welcomed and appreciated their unwavering commitment to the advance of democracy since building voters enlightenment and civic participation over the years.
Barr Babalola charged them to be more thriving in competency, neutrality, professionalism and accountability not only through in the conduct of elections but through active citizen participation, transparency and also remain indispensable partners in the democratic journey in Osun State and Nigeria at large.
In furtherance of her speech, she commended them in playing critical roles in voter education, Election observation, Advocacy for peaceful elections, conflict resolution, public mobilization and political participation.
“With your intervention many citizens, especially women,youths,persons with disabilities (PWDs),Rural dwellers and first time voters have become more aware of their Electoral Rights and responsibilities”, she said.
The new Osun State REC, therefore sought for more of active support and collaboration of Civil Society and Community Stakeholders in order to enhance the credibility of the forth coming elections in the state and the country at large.
