FG Reaffirms Commitment Towards Made In Nigeria Automotive Manufacturing

FIC Report (Zamfara State) – The Federal Government has reaffirmed it’s commitment towards reposition the automotive manufacturing inline with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to boost economy and skill acquisition in the country.

This was disclosed by the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Senator John Owan Enoh while commissioning the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) Training Centre held in Gusau recently.

The Minister stated that the vision behind the establishment of NADDC was to position Nigeria as one of the leading automotive manufacturing nation’s with a mission to create enabling environment for the production of Nigerian made vehicles of international standards at competitive prices by using local materials and resources.

“The automotive training centres would boost the availability of modern auto workshops and training centres for handling the repair and maintenance of modern generation motor vehicles and also promise mastery of the skills needed to support the maintenance of motor vehicles” he said.

The NADDC has trained 100 youth in Zamfara State on mechatronics for the repair of petrol and CNG-powered tricycles and motorcycles under quest to bring an end to the high rate of unemployment among the teeming youth across the nation.

Speaking at the occasion, Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State stated that advances in mechatronics, electric mobility, alternative fuel technologies, smart diagnostics and digital system are redefining transportation would wide.

The Governor further Commended the Federal Government for support towards skill acquisition programs and the NADDC leadership with the hope to position the country to become the best in Made in Nigeria automotive manufacturing.
