EHCON and NBMA heads Meets Accountant-General of the Federation on strategic synergy in Abuja

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and promote effective public sector service delivery, the Registra, Environmental Health Council of Nigeria (EHCON), Dr. Yakubu Mohammad Baba and the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA), Dr. Fatima Suleiman Zuntu, today, June 30th, 2026, paid a strategic courtesy visit to the Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF) Dr. Shamseldeen B. Ogunjimi in Abuja.

The high-level engagement underscored the shared commitment of the institutions to fostering stronger partnerships, aligning fiscal and administrative strategies, and enhancing cooperation in support of environmental governance and national development.

Both NBMA and EHCON chief executives emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration with the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation in ensuring prudent financial management, efficient resource utilization, and the successful implementation of their respective statutory mandates. They noted that strengthened institutional synergy would further improve service delivery and reinforce government efforts towards environmental sustainability, biosafety, and public health protection.

In his remarks, the Accountant-General of the Federation commended the leadership of both agencies for their proactive initiative and reaffirmed the commitment of the Office of the Accountant-General to supporting policies and programmes that promote accountability, transparency, and operational efficiency across government institutions.

“This meeting marks another significant step in advancing strategic partnerships among key government institutions, with the shared objective of delivering sustainable environmental management, regulatory excellence, and improved public service for the benefit of all Nigerians”.
