FIC REPORT (OSUN STATE) – The All Progressives Congress, on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, unveiled its revised Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and on that list was a name many did not expect — Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The dancing governor, who only months ago secured his second term on the platform of the Accord Party after his exit from the Peoples Democratic Party, has now been named the Osun State Coordinator for the PBAT Presidential Campaign Council replacing former Governor and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, as the face of Tinubu’s campaign in Osun the state.

It is an appointment that signals a shifting paradigm in Nigerian politics, where regional alignment is beginning to supersede strict party lines.

For The Imole Campaign Council (TICC), the platform that drove Adeleke to victory, the appointment is not a surprise but a validation.

In a swift reaction, the council welcomed the development in a statement signed by its Director General, Senator Dr. Kamarudeen Olalere Oyewumi describing the appointment as “well deserved” and assured President Tinubu that his confidence in Adeleke would not be misplaced.

“We promise the President, just like Governor Adeleke had said sometimes ago that we will deliver 1.5million votes to ensure his victory in the coming Presidential election,” he reechoed.

According to the council, all structures of the Accord Party in Osun will now be deployed to work for the re-election of President Tinubu in 2027.

The TICC framed the alliance as a strategic one for Osun. Its message to Osun people was simple: keep trusting Governor Adeleke as he delivers on his campaign promises, and understand that a vote for President Tinubu is a vote for Governor Adeleke.

Adeleke had earlier stated that his alliance and decision to support Tinubu was rooted in regional solidarity, broader South West p to project and a shared desire to accelerate massive infrastructural developments like the Sokoto-Badagry Highway and the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road.

He is not alone in this cross-party embrace. The revised list also retains the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, as coordinator for Rivers and the FCT, alongside other non-APC figures.

As the APC prepares for the formal inauguration of its campaign team on October 14 at the Presidential Villa, one thing is clear: Osun, once a battleground between APC and PDP, is now set for a new kind of contest — one where Imole will light the path for PBAT.
