FIC REPORT (SOKOTO STATE) – The Sokoto state Government is hosting the 15th National Council on Lands, Housing and Urban Development.
The Special Adviser on Media to the Honourable Minister of state for Housing and Urban Development, Adamu Aminu, issued a statement in Sokoto on Monday, 12th October, 2026.
The programme is scheduled to hold from 12th to 16th October, 2026 at the AI-Mustapha Hall Sokoto Guest Inn, Sokoto state. The Council brings together Federal and State policymakers, mortgage institutions, land administrators and private developers to shape the future of housing delivery.
Adamu stated that the Council is being convend under the leadership of the Honourable Minister and Minister of state, Housing and Urban Development, Engr. Muttaqa Rabe Darma PHD and Rt Honourable Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, with the permanent Secretary, Shuaib M.L Balgore as the chairman of the Technical Session.
The 15th meeting with the theme, “Strengthening Mortgage Land and Institutional Systems for Accelerated and Inclusive Housing Delivery,” speaks directly to the core barriers facing affordable housing.
The meeting will examine how to deepen mortgage access, reforms and land Systems, strengthen and translate the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates vision into homes that Nigerians can truly afford.
For the Sokoto state Government, hosting this Council reaffirms its commitment to Urban development, for the nation, it is another step towards better housing,stronger communities and a greater Nigeria.
