FIC REPORT (OSUN STATE) – The Resident Electoral Commissioner,INEC of Osun State, Oluwatoyin Babalola has called on stakeholders and media organizations to come together to demonstrate greater commitment to the task ahead of the 2027 general election.
The REC,Mrs Babalola Oluwatoyin organized a stakeholder meeting with the civil society organization (CSO) and media organizationin the INEC Headquarters, Osogbo ahead of the 2027 general election.
In her speech,she iterated the meeting was scheduled to show her preparedness towards 2027 General Election and she also said aside from statutory activities,a number of other pre-election operational activities will be executed in preparation for the general election to ensure the conduct of credible, free,fair, peaceful, transparent and inclusive election in Osun State.
Mrs Babalola also highlighted the key areas of preparation in recruitment and training of adhoc staff in which the recruitment portal has opened since September 8,2026and will close November 18, 2026 for election officials whereby qualified applicants on the portal INECPRES will be shortlisted.
The focus of recruitment is based oncompetence, neutrality, integrity and professionalism while eligible persons are advised to apply. However, suitable venues for the training of ad-hoc staff at the state and local government (LGA) levels have been secured, she said.
The activities of outstanding trainings within the electoral timeline are: training of election security personnel (state)which will come up in January 6, 2027, local government security training in January 8, 2027 and the training of the Supervisors isDecember 29 to 31, December, 2026.
Babalola emphasized that the success of 2027 general election is shared responsibilities while our collective efforts will go a long way in strengthening democratic governance in Osun State and Nigeria at large.
