AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria partners NITDA in building a smart e-system Agency

The Newly appointed National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria, Hon. Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi Tsauri has taken steps in actualizing his vision of building a smart e-system for the Agency as he partner NITDA.

Hon. Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi while on a courtesy call to the Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, CCIE on Thursday 9th January, 2025, said AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria has a mandate that cuts across different Socio-economic sectors and therefore, it will requires Technology to drive the process of providing an effective and efficient service delivery in line with government e-governance system and also in placing the Agency in the right pedestal with it counterpart in the African Union.

Hon. Abdullahi who could not hide his passion for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) called on the NITDA DG to consider collaborating with the Agency in providing software systems that are tailored to the needs of the Agency and to provide training for staff, adding that his vision is to transform the Agency to operate a paperless system, which is the way to go.

He appreciated the DG who he said has been working assiduously in driving government e-governance Agenda and ensuring that Nigeria remains an important player in the ICT world and called on him to see AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria as a reliable partner in supporting the Agency towards achieving its mandate, while expressing optimism that having enjoyed the support of NITDA in his state while serving as the immediate past Chief of Staff to the Government of Katsina State, NITDA should extend same support to AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria.

In his response, the DG NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi pledge NITDA’s commitment to partner and collaborate with AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria in the area of building an e-system software for the Agency and also to provide necessary training for the staff.

The NITDA DG while explaining his Agency mandate and it’s strategic road map and plans, which is centred around eight pillars, hinted that the Agency seeks to make Nigerians digitally literate and to provide inclusive digital access to all, including the Nigerian workers.

He said NITDA as an Agency has fully migrated to an e-system Agency and has gone a step further in introducing the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) which has even made work easier and faster and has saved a lot of man-hour for the Agency.

Abdullahi said in collaborating with AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria, both Agency will set up a team that will carry out the need assessment of the Agency and thereafter recommend suitable system software and training that would be required.

He added that as part of effort to ensure that the laudable vision of the AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria CEO is achieved, there is need for re-orientation and re-engineering of the mindset of staff to enable them embarrass the system and work in line with the vision.

He further stated that on the Small holder farmer project and the climate smart Agricultural programme of the Agency, NITDA already has systems in place in the area of Smart Agriculture and climate change monitoring which the Agency is ready to assist AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria with. He congratulated the NC/CEO, Hon. Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi Tsauri for his appointment and wished him success in all his endeavours.
