In his letter dated February 9, 2022, to the President of the Senate, President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR has requested that the Senate confirms Hon. Umar El Yakub from Kano State as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representing Kano State.
The nomination is in accordance with Section 147 (2) of the 1999Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended.
Hon. Umar El-Yakub currently serves as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters- House of Representatives.
Other nominees are; Ikoh, Henry Ikechukwu –Abia, Umana Okon Umana –Akwa Ibom, Ekumankama Joseph Nkama – Ebonyi, Goodluck Nanah Opiah- Imo, Ademola Adewole Adegoroye-Ondo and, Odum Udi, Rivers.
