ABUJA (PWH Ministry’ Report)- Saddened by the death of football fans in a viewing centre in Calabar, Cross River State, the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing (Power Sector), has commiserated with the families of those who lost their lives and those who were injured in the electrical accident, the people and Government of Cross River State over the ugly incident.
According to a statement released to the press by the Ministry’s (Power Sector) Press Unit on April 21,2017, the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and Nigeria Electricity Management Service Agency (NEMSA) have been directed to thoroughly investigate the incident and its causes, and to take regulatory action as appropriate. Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC), has also commenced a comprehensive investigation in order to implement procedures and necessary actions to forestall future occurrence.
