ALAUSA HANDOVER TO NEW MINISTER OF STATE, HEALTH -REWARD FOR WORK IS MORE WORK, SAYS PATE The Coordinating Minister for Health & Social Welfare Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate has described the redeployment of Dr Tunji Alausa as new Honourable Minister of Education, as reward for good and exceptional work in his former post as Minister of State for Health & Social Welfare. Prof Pate disclosed this during the handover by Dr. Tunji Alausa, former Minister of State to the in-coming Minister, Dr. Salako Iziaq Adekunle Adeboye, held in the Ministry's headquarters office Abuja, Monday 4 November 2024. Speaking with nostalgia, the Coordinating Minister extolled the virtues of his former assistant and said; he is a man with capacity, commitment and a team player. All these attributes, he emphasized, has contributed immensely to the transformative blocks of improving the health sector for effective, efficient and, optimal service delivery to Nigerians. While wishing Dr Tunji Alausa the out-gone Minister, success and God's guidance in his new post as Honourable Minister for Education, Prof. Pate asserted that '' the reward for work is more work. The reward for good work is even more work. So I am not surprised''. Furthermore, the Coordinating Minister welcomed the incoming Minister of State for Health & Social Welfare, Dr Salako Iziaq Adekunle Adeboye to the Ministry; stressing that his coming is highly appreciated. Collectively, he stated, we shall build upon the milestones to revamp and, advance the health sector in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. The highpoint of the event was the handover notes by Dr. Tunji Alausa to the incoming Minister of State for Health & Social Welfare Dr Salako Iziaq Adekunle Adeboye; in the presence of the Coordinating Minister for Health & Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate; Permanent Secretary Kachollom Daju mni; and Directors of Departments. Another milestone event of the day in the Ministry's headquarters Office; was the release of appointment letters by Dr. Tunji Alausa to ten (10nos) Medical Directors of Federal Hospitals and, the newly established Federal Medical Centres at Misau, Bauchi State; Ikole-Ekiti, Ekiti State and, Epe Lagos State. Speaking at the event marking his last duty in the Federal Ministry of Health & Social Welfare, Dr Alausa enjoined the newly appointed Medical Directors to be prudent, judicious and purposeful in their administration of resources. He emphasized to them the dictum: to whom much is given, much is expected; and said ''please focus on the project you can complete on time, any amount of money that the government releases into healthcare, we want our citizens to start feeling the impact".
