FIC Report (Kano State) – In a significant move to enhance security operations in Kano State, the Deputy President of the Senate, Distinguished Senator Dr. Barau I. Jibrin, CFR, handed over 1,000 motorcycles to the Kano State Police Command. The event, held at the Bompai Police Headquarters, marked a milestone in efforts to strengthen the police force’s operational capabilities and ensure the safety of residents.
In his address, Senator Jibrin commended the dedication of the police in maintaining peace and pledged continued support for their mission. “We are here to launch these motorcycles to boost the security operations of Kano State Police Command,” he stated. “I commend the Commissioner of Police, ‘Dogon Aiki,’ for his exemplary work alongside his team. We will continue to support the Police to ensure maintenance of law and order in the state.”
The event also featured remarks from DIG Ali A. Muhammad, the outgoing Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 1 Kano, who expressed gratitude for the Senator’s consistent contributions to security efforts. He urged officers to honor this gesture by delivering effective services to the public.
Commissioner of Police Salman Dogo Garba highlighted the broader implications of the donation, noting that the motorcycles symbolize a critical investment in the force’s capabilities. He urged officers to use them responsibly to enhance their efficiency, uphold professionalism, and build stronger community trust.
The Deputy Senate President’s past contributions, including facilitating operational vehicles, renovating police facilities, and constructing a modern Police Secondary School in Kabo, were also acknowledged. The Commissioner expressed hopes for continued collaboration to further strengthen the force.
