A Staff of Federal Information Centre, Umuahia, Federal Ministry of Information has been released from the net of kidnappers after payment of huge ransom.
Mr Uchechi Uzosike Nganga, an Information Officer was abducted by unknown gunmen in the evening of Friday,26th May 2023 infront of his residence in Umuahia,Abia State.
While interviewing him ,he stated that he could not remember where he was taken to as he was gagged and blindfolded.He further stated that after so much beating and victimization by the kidnappers,he was forced to call his friends and family members who rallied round and raised some money to pay the ransom they demanded.
Mr Uzosike revealed that he was kidnapped alongside a lady whose family payed 5million for ransom while 2.8million was payed on his behalf.They were both dropped off by the kidnappers along old Aba road, Abia State after payment of the ransom.
He further revealed that the Police is making effort to track down the kidnappers and that his vehicle which was abandoned by the kidnappers was tracked down with the help of vehicle tracker.
