FG Signs MOU with Edo State Government to Host 20th National Sports Festival (2020)

It was another breathtaking and historic moment when the Federal Government, here represented by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, and the Edo State Governor represented by the Executive Governor, His Excellency Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki alongside with Deputy Governor, Mr Shaibu and top Government Officials from Edo State signed the hosting right state agreement for the 20th National Sports Festival (2020) in Abuja recently.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Barr. Solomon Selcap Dalung  on the occasion said, government is very elated being able to secure a host state for the 20th edition of the Games. He therefore said the signing ceremony is very significant as it not only confirms but also reassures Nigerians that the Host for the next National Sports Festival is ready and willing to undertake the responsibilities associated with hosting a festival of this magnitude.

In his remarks, His Excellency the Executive Governor of Edo, Mr. Godwin Obaseki expressed enthusiasm for the hosting rights and confirmed the availabilities of venues and facilities already on ground such as the University of Benin, he however stressed that the state is already putting logistics in place to upgrade ageing facilities, while also expressing hope of putting new structures in place where necessary.

It was a very colourful ceremony.
