The Hon. Minister of the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Barr. Hannatu Musa Musawa has unveiled the D30 Data Platform with a view to transforming the Nigeria’s cultural, tourism and creative economy sectors. This open-source data initiative, is set to be the most comprehensive in Africa. Vows unparalleled transparency and economic stimulation, setting a new benchmark for investment and innovation.

The Hon. Minister, Barr. Musawa ambition of Nigeria ‘Destination 2030’ is to generate over 2 million jobs in these sectors, the D30 Platform exemplifies data-driven models like Nigeria’s EFInA and South Africa’s REIPPPP which attracted 16 billion renewable energy investments in South Africa.

Minister Musawa reiterated the potential impact: “Launching the D30 Platform is crucial in unlocking our creative and tourism sectors’ vast potential. With funding fully secured for phase 1, we’re building a transparent, dynamic data ecosystem to spark innovation, attract investment, and shape policies that bolster Nigeria’s presence in the global creative economy.”

The platform will empower stakeholders with real-time data to harness lucrative opportunities, enhance infrastructure, and foster strategic collaborations essential for job creation and economic growth.

With data collection underway and a launch set for late 2025, the platform’s development will involve the collaborative efforts with the National Bureau of Statistics as well as key CCI and tourism sector players. FMACTCE therefore invites critical stakeholders to contribute their insights, ensuring the platform’s data integrity and relevance in revolutionizing Nigeria’s creative landscape.

This initiative promises to be a turning point to redefining Nigeria’s cultural and economic journey, driving prosperity and global competitiveness in the years ahead.
