ANAMBRA (FIC AWKA) – Governor Willie Obiano recently swore in two new Judges at the Government House, Awka.
The two new judges are Victoria Nwoye Esq., who was formerly at Customary Court, Abuja and Onyinye Anumonye Esq., a private legal practitioner.
In his speech during the swearing-in ceremony, the Governor pledged to continue to support the judiciary, enjoining them to facilitate litigation processes so as to decongest those in the awaiting trial list.
He also urged the Judges to be dedicated to their duties and deploy their wealth of knowledge in the discharge of their duties.
He commended the State Chief Judge and National Judicial Council (NJC) for making the appointments possible while promising that the state government would ensure that the Judges receive their emoluments and other entitlements promptly.
State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Uju Nwogu, commended government’s measures aimed at promoting the welfare of the Judiciary.
One of the Judges, Justice Anumonye, thanked government for finding them worthy for the positions, stressing that their appointment was a call for greater service.
