Governor of Nasarawa State Says Traditional Institutions are Vehicle for Peaceful Co-Existence

NASSARAWA (FIC Lafia) – Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has described traditional institutions as a vehicle for peaceful co-existence among people in their respective domain.

The Governor stated this while presenting staff of office to 16 traditional heads in the State recently.

He said the decision to upgrade and subsequently present them with staff of office was aimed at promoting their status and equip them with the instrument that would position them on a pedestal that will enable them discharge their respective duties effectively.

Governor Al-Makura charged them to always ensure they live above their responsibility by ensuring that they maintain peace and order in their respective domains.

He pointed out that out of the 16 traditional rulers that were presented with the staff of office, one is 1st class, while 5 are upgraded from 3rd class to 2nd class status.

Those presented with staff of office are the Gom-mama, Sarkin Arikya, Osakio of Assakio,Oron Akye, Zhe Dugulu, Oche Agatu, Chun Ngah,Ohinoyi  ogye, Sarkin Nunku, Sakin Adogi, Sarkin tunga, Sarkin Ribi, Aren Eggon Erroh, Oso-kadoko, Chu- Buh as well as Sarkin Ungwan Makama respectively.
