Governor Ganduje Holds State Security Council Meeting at Karaye Local Government Area.

KANO (Kano FIC Report) – Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on Monday 27th May, 2019 commenced a security awareness campaign in five Emirates of Kano State, namely; Kano, Rano, Karaye, Gaya and Bichi. The campaign is aimed at sensitizing traditional and religious leaders to be security conscious in their respective domain.

The phase 1 security awareness campaign with the theme “Join us in securing Kano” was launched by Governor Ganduje in Karaye Local Government, alongside the Emir of Karaye, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar II.

While speaking at the occasion, Governor Ganduje directed all District Heads, Village and Ward Heads and Chief Imams to hold monthly security meetings in their respective areas.

He also directed that district heads submit their reports to the Emirs, ward heads to the village heads and the village head back to the district heads, while chief Imams report to the ward heads and afterwards, the reports would be harmonized and transmitted to the State Government for necessary action.

Ganduje continued that the State had banned movement of motor cycle riders across all the state forests temporarily, in order to enable soldiers conduct a special operation in the forest.

The Governor also intimated that the government would soon carry out a census of Fulanis settled in all the forest across the state.

He assured the security agencies, traditional institution and other stake holders of government readiness to render all the support needed from all forms of banditry.
